Election Day — August 11

Make Your Plan

Reminder: Early Voting Begins August 5.

If you plan to participate in South Carolina's upcoming U.S. Senate Special Republican Primary on Tuesday, August 11, now is a good time to review the upcoming voting deadlines and make your voting plan. The South Carolina Election Commission has announced that early voting will be available Wednesday, August 5, through Friday, August 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Voters may cast their ballot at any early voting center within their county.

Please note that, under South Carolina election law, voters who participated in the June Democratic Primary are not eligible to vote in the August 11 Special Republican Primary. Voters who participated in the June Republican Primary, or who did not vote in either party's June primary, are eligible to participate.

If you plan to vote absentee by mail and qualify to do so, the deadline to return an absentee ballot application is Friday, July 31, at 5:00 p.m.

Before heading to the polls, be sure to:

  • Verify your voter registration information.
  • Confirm your early voting location or Election Day polling place.
  • Bring a valid photo ID when voting in person.

Additional voting information, including early voting locations and voter resources, is available through the South Carolina Election Commission.
